Fishing Guide / Tour FAQ

What should I bring?

You always need a Fishing / Hunting license, which can be picked up from just about anywhere and cost $17.00 the first day and only $8.00 for each additional day for out of state residents. You can also purchase it online from the link at the bottom of this page. Sun screen, polarized sunglasses and snacks are a good idea. You can purchase your license online here: Texas Parks & Wildlife Licenses Online

Learn About Texas Fishing Regulations

As a professional fisherman I feel very strongly that all the rules and regulations set forth by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department be followed. Learn about the rules and regulations about fishing in Texas here.

Don’t EVEN ASK! I follow ALL state rules and regulations.

Should I bring my own bow? And what type of reel?

I have all the gear you need even LEFT HANDED bows. If you like, you can bring your own bows and arrows. As far as reels go, I recommend the retriever reel with or without floats. Me personally, I tie off to the rear of the bottle and hang on.

How many SHOOTERS can your boats hold?

My boats feature a large front deck and a rear deck. One boat is 20 feet long and 8 feet wide, the other is 21 feet long and 7 feet wide. One boat can handle 8 shooters and the other can handle up to 6 comfortably. When rod and reel fishing I prefer no more than 5 anglers per boat.

I have an Airboat that is 20 feet long and 7 feet wide and 60 horse. If you request the the Airboat, due to location there will be a fuel surcharge.

Can we bring beer?

Yes. As long as everyone is 21 and up.

Where will we be fishing?

I fish all over the state from the Louisiana border to the Mexico border and anywhere else in between. The weather changes so do the fish so when conditions get bad I move to a better location to help improve your chances of getting what you came for.

Where will we stay?

We usually stay at a motel near the water body we will be fishing. Rooms usually cost about $40.00 to $65.00 a night. “Executive Alligator Gar Trophy Hunts” and “All Inclusive Fishing Trips” include individual hotel rooms for both participants in the cost of the trip.

How many days do you recommend?

Most of my out of state and out of country customers book 2 to 5 day trips and then book again the following year. My in state customers book 1 to 2 day trips and then book again for later in the year.
